Raid nets money, drugs, guns; warrant issued for suspect
Acting on a tip from neighbors, authorities raided a suspected drug dealer’s apartment Oct. 1. The raid netted drugs, guns and more than $12,000 in cash, according to a news release from the Lorain Police Department’s Detective Bureau.
But the suspected drug dealer, Cannan Sullivan, 23, who lived at 705 E St., was not there.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the E
Street apartment after receiving reports from neighbors and information from patrol officers.
Lorain police Det. Craig Payne, with assistance from the Special Investigations Unit and Lorain Police Narcotics, led an investigation that resulted in the issuing of the warrant, the release said.
Members of the Lorain SWAT and K-9 units executed the warrant.
They discovered a stolen loaded .38-caliber Smith and Wesson handgun and a loaded .22-caliber Mossberg rifle, the release said.
In addition, police recovered 200 grams of marijuana, 417 suspected “pressed fentanyl” pills, 135 grams of suspected powder fentanyl, less than a gram of cocaine, seven grams of methamphetamine and more than $12,000 in cash.
Police have a warrant for Sullivan’s arrest on trafficking in a fentanyl compound, the release said.
