Jakorion Caffey AVON»FOOTBALL SOPHOMORE»RUNNING BACK

On the field: Caffey recorded 23 carries for 181 yards and four touchdowns, a career high, in a 41-29win over Olmsted Falls.

Off the field: Caffey’s favorite sports memory is the atmosphere this season when Avon played Avon Lake, his hobbies include playing football, basketball, and hanging out with friends. Caffey’s unique talent is writing left-handed but is actually right-handed.

Sidney Hooks AMHERST»VOLLEYBALL SENIOR»MIDDLE HITTER/OUTSIDE HITTER

On the court: Stats for two games vs Conference teams: Berea-Midpark and Avon Lake, including 5 aces in set 3 to seal the win over Avon Lake. Hooks recorded eight block kills, seven kills and eight aces, including five aces in set three to defeat Avon Lake. Off the court: Hook’s favorite sports memories are the times the Comets spent doing team bonding activities. She plans on attending Lorain County Community College after graduation.

Morgan Rogers WESTLAKE»VOLLEYBALL SENIOR»RIGHT SIDE

On the court: Rogers is a big reason why the Demons are still undefeated at 18-0. She is also heading to Otterbein College to play volleyball next Fall. This week, she recorded six kills and six digs against North Olmsted and seven kills and 19digs against Bay. Off the court: Her favorite sports memory would be beating Medina Highland this year when one of the sets end score was 34-32. In her free time she likes to go boating and skiing.

Garrett Yakunovich FIRELANDS»BOYS SOCCER JUNIOR»FORWARD

On the field: The junior had 3 goals and 2 assists in a 9-0win over Wellington this past week.

Off the field: Yakunovich’s favorite sports memories are spending time with the team at soccer tournament­s. He likes to hang out with friends, his favorite subject in school is math and his favorite food is pizza.

On the course: Bray had two top ten finishes in leading the team to a 2nd place finish at the 24 team Edison Invite at Sawmill Creek and he also led the team to a 2nd place finish at the Comet Classic

Off the course: Planning to attend college to be an Air Traffic Controller. The college is undecided. His favorite sports memory is winning the golf Sectional Title and SWC conference in basketball. His favorite hobby is fishing, his favorite food is wings, and his favorite sports team is the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Maeve Ransom BAY»CROSS COUNTRY JUNIOR

On the course: Ransom recorded an 8th place finish in 20:17 at the Vermilion Invitation­al and led the Bay Girls to a 2nd place team finish in the D1 race. Her best 5k time this season was 19:57 at Strongsvil­le.

Off the course: Her hobbies include hanging out with her friends, skiing, and traveling. Her favorite school subject is world history or math, her favorite tv shows include Stranger Things and Criminal Minds, and her favorite movie is The Breakfast Club. Ransom’s favorite sports memory is the team camping trip to Mohican this year.

Anthony Januzzi FIRELANDS»CROSS COUNTRY SOPHOMORE

On the course: 17:25 at Obenour Invite at Vermilion high school where the team placed first overall

Off the course: Januzzi’s nickname is Ant. His favorite music is rap and his favorite artist is Trippie Redd, his favorite sports teams are the Cleveland Cavaliers and Duke Blue Devils Basketball, his favorite food is Chicken Alfredo and his favorite TV show is Outer Banks. He plays Basketball.

Emma Dean VERMILION»GOLF SOPHOMORE

On the course: Her score was one of the best four in every match and tournament this season for the Sailors and was one of the team’s scoring leaders.
