Lorain roads, bridge to close for 5K

Traffic could be a headache for motorists in the area around Lorain City Hall, portions of Broadway and in the Spitzer Marina development on the morning of Oct. 9.

Lorain police announced that several streets as well the Bascule Bridge will be shut down to traffic and parking bans enforced in those areas starting at 8:30 a.m. to clear the way for a charity 5K run.

Starting at 8:30 a.m., the Charles Berry Bascule Bridge as well as a portion of Broadway that stretches from West Erie Avenue to Eighth Street will be closed to traffic and parking bans enforced.

Runners will begin the race at the City Center parking lot and finish at Black River Landing.
