Zachery D. Spurlock

Zachery D. Spurlock, age 24 of Amherst passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 18, 2021. He was born on May 24, 1997, in Elyria, Ohio and was a graduate of Marion L. Steele High School.

He enjoyed music, playing video and computer games (especially World of Warcraft), eating healthy and working out. He loved his family and his dogs (Soldier Boy # 1 Best Friend) that brought much joy to his life.

Zachery is survived by his mother, Veronica (nee Moore) (friend, Sandy Hunt); sisters, Megan Spurlock, Brittney Kozak, Brandy Spurlock, Danielle Spurlock, and Hope Spurlock; Grandmother, Margaret (Denver) Casto; grandfather, James Spurlock; aunts and uncles, Priscilla (David) Berthold, Johnnie Moore, David L. Moore, Sherry Piscione, Joe (Denise) Moore, Mary (Jane) Moore, George (Tiffany) Moore, Lisa (Steven) Hughes,

Billie Jean Moore, and Betsy Moore, James McFadden and Kristen McFadden; niece, Nevaeh Spurlock-Polly; nephews, Armania Spurlock, Max Bruno, and M.J. Byrd.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Travis; grandmothers, Arlene Spurlock, and Yvette McFadden; and his grandfather, John Moore; and his aunt Yvette Angel Riley.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers will be said at 11:15 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian of Burial at 12:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035. Rev. Father Neil Walters will officiate. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.

The family wishes to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses who graciously cared and donated their services for Zachery throughout his life.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses.
