Youth Services program recruiting for jobs
Lorain County Community Action Agency has partnered with the Lorain County Workforce Development Agency and OhioMeansJobs Lorain County to offer a Youth Services program.
The program serves young men and women ages 16 to 24 whether they have completed high school or not, according to the Community Action Agency.
The core of the program is to offer paid work experience.
Experience can be had at the LCCAA Bike Shop, while performing community service throughout the county and as other partnerships are developed, according to the Community Action Agency.
Families on TANF or SNAP qualify and the funds earned by the youth do not count against those benefits.
All eligibility requirements are determined and reviewed by the Lorain County Workforce Development Agency and OhioMeansJobs, according to the Community Action Agency.
There are many services available to eligible youth, including paid work experience, summer employment, job shadowing, tuition assistance, monetary incentives, mentoring, tutoring and career coaching, officials say.
To access these services, the applicant first must complete an initial registration, which will allow a youth staff member to determine the eligibility for the program.
Regardless of the result, a staff member will reach out to the applicant to discuss an interest in the program, according to the Community Action Agency.
