Harold “Hank” T. Dickinson

Harold “Hank” T. Dickinson, age 84, of Amherst, went to be with the Lord on May 12th, 2022, following a brief illness. Harold was born in Lorain, Ohio, on December 18th, 1937, to Richard T. and Marian (nee Linden) Dickinson.

He was a 1955 graduate of South Amherst High School. He began his career working with his father at Central Cadillac in Cleveland, Ohio. Harold was then employed by Ford Motor Company and retired in 1999 after 34 years of service. He married Beverly (nee Bramwell) October 24th, 1964, and they went on to have three beautiful children.

Harold was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He participated in AMA flattrack racing and local hare-scrambles alongside his father. Following retirement, he took dance lessons at Get Hep Swing and enjoyed many

years of swing dancing, where he made countless friends to whom he remained close the rest of his time here. His fierce love of dancing and music was contagious, and he was known to bust a move anywhere, anytime. Harold’s biggest love was spending time with his family and friends, whether it be fishing for perch and walleye, golfing, drag racing events, riding his motorcycles, or vacationing at Ormond By The Sea, where he attended motorcycle racing at Daytona Beach. Harold enjoyed sharing and liking on social media to keep in touch with all his loved ones. His genuine nature, sincere disposition, sense of humor, and personal loyalty will be missed by many near and far.

Harold is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly; identical twin brother, Gerald Anthony Dickinson (Dorothy); sister Sandra Miles (Eric, deceased); son, Brett; daughter Andrea (Steve Turner); granddaughters, Stephanie and Jessi Turner; great-grandchildren, Trevor and Leo Arndt; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews that loved their Uncle Harold.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Richard and Marian; infant sister Mary; brother, Jon Glaser; second mother, Mabelle (nee Slack) Dickinson; and daughter Aimee T. Dickinson.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association act.alz.org or the Aimee T. Dickinson Scholarship Fund through Lorain County Community College.
