Teachers unite for Professional Development Day
A multi-district Professional Development Day took place Nov. 7 at the Keystone Local School District, according to a news release.
Districts represented included Keystone Local School District, Wellington Exempted Village District, Clearview Local Schools and Lorain County JVS.
Approximately 400 educators were in attendance, according to Educational Service Center of Lorain County Assistant Superintendent Dave Kish in the release.
Keynote speakers
Keynote speakers were author and educational consultant Andi McNair and educator, coach/mentor and educational consultant James Knight.
Professional development sessions and networking opportunities were presented by professionals in education, as well as from the Educational Service Center of Lorain County, State Support Team Region 2 and NORT2H Instructional Tech Support.
“It is so important for educators to continue to learn and grow so that they can best serve their students,” Kish said in the release. “Kudos goes out to Keystone, Clearview, Wellington and the Lorain County JVS for pulling together their fiscal resources to provide a unique learning opportunity for their staff.”
Sessions focused on Ohio’s benchmark and checkpoint assessments; mathematics; literacy; wellness; how to optimize learning; gifted and talented students; and classroom management/behavior.
