Kiwanis holding State of Wellington breakfast March 23
Wellington Kiwanis Club will sponsor its sixth annual “State of Wellington” breakfast featuring village and school leaders at 8 a.m., March 23, at the Wellington Eagles, 631 St. Main St. in Wellington.
Keynote speakers are Wellington Schools Superintendent Ed Weber and Treasurer Mark Donnelly and Mayor Hans Schneider and Village Manager Jonathan Greever, according to a news release.
They will look back on 2022 and outline their goals for 2023, the release said.
School representatives will review their recently adopted strategic plan and look toward conducting a new facilities study, according to the release
Village officials will provide an update on the construction of the new police station, groundbreaking and development of Union School Park on South Main Street and an update on water, wastewater and electric utility issues, according to the release. Tickets are $15. They can be purchased at the Mayor’s Office on the third floor of the Town Hall; Bremke Insurance, 104 S. Main St.; Fifth Third Bank, 161 E. Herrick Ave.; and Main St.. Wellington office, 118 W. Herrick Ave.
Tickets must be purchased by March 18, according to the release.
The buffet breakfast will be served by the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

All proceeds from the breakfast are earmarked for the Wellington Kiwanis Club’s long-term signature project of raising funds for building and replacing community playground equipment, according to the release.
Wellington’s Fraternal Order of Eagles; Forest City Technologies, Inc., Valley Chevrolet; Wellington; Wellington Masonic Lodge #127; and the Drew Guyer Memorial Foundation will serve as the platinum sponsors for the State of Wellington breakfast. Gold sponsors include Wellington Implement; Edward Jones, Wellington office; Norton-Eastman Funeral Home; and Bremke Insurance Agency. Silver sponsors are the Lorain County Joint Vocational School, Lorain County Community College, Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative, American Legion Post 8 and Studer-Obringer Inc.
The Wellington Kiwanis Club is in its 99th year of operation.
The club meets at noon the first and third Thursday of each month at South Lorain County Ambulance District’s community meeting room on East Herrick Avenue.
