Vermilion joins ‘I’m Here’ campaign
Promotion part of National Small Business Week
National Small Business Week is approaching, and several Main Street groups in Lorain County are preparing for it.
The “I’m Here” campaign is the latest initiative to promote local small businesses.
The campaign, which is a rebrand of a similar project in 2020, is a combined project among Vermilion Main Street and Vermilion Chamber of Commerce as well as other Main Street organizations and chambers of commerce in Lorain County.
“The idea is you take photos with one of the ‘I’m
Here’ cards in front of or in a small business, and post it on social media,” said Kate Repola, executive director of Main Street Vermilion.
The cards are available at participating businesses.
Patrons can post the photos to social media with the hashtags #44089ShopSmall and #LOCOsmallBiz.
From there, they’re automatically entered to win $50 in gift cards to a Vermilion business.
“Patrons also will be entered into a drawing with all of Lorain County for a grand prize over $350,” Repola said.
Patrons can post pictures until May 6 across all social media platforms, she said.
Participating Main Street groups include Lorain, Vermilion, Amherst and Wellington as well as the Lorain County and Vermilion chambers of commerce, Small Business Development Center at Lorain County Community College, Oberlin Business Partnership and Elyria Community Partnership.
“It’s a fantastic way to continue to support local businesses and celebrate National Small Business Week,” Repola said.
“It also continues to bring us all together in celebration of the hard-working businesses in our area.”
