FREE 2023 SUMMER THEATER, SPORTS AND STEAM CAMPS

-

Make this summer a time of fun, adventure, and discovery for your child or young teen by enrolling them in free, high-quality summer camps sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lorain County and made possible through the generous funding of the Stocker Foundation and Lorain County Job and Family Services and the Lorain County Commissioners. Each camp is designed to bring out your child’s best, building on their interests in theater, sports, or STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math – plus reading!)

All camps, regardless of their themes, are packed with project-based learning and a hands-on approach to help prevent summer learning loss; field trips to build their sense of adventure; and fun opportunities to enjoy the company of other campers and grow and display their talents. Plus, youth will be provided a nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack. Positive youth development including social and emotional learning activities will be emphasized. Moreover – this is NOT LIKE SCHOOL! The days are designed to be FUN, with opportunities to get outside and enjoy the summer weather.

“We are thrilled to be able to provide these very high-quality free camp opportunities to Lorain County children and youth,” said BBBSLC President and CEO Holly Brinda. “These camps are designed to be fun, educational, and healthy alternatives to keep our kids engaged and learning this summer.”

Camp participants will be in good hands, with BBBSLC degreed child professionals and our summer staff that includes working and retired certified teachers and college students studying to be social workers and educators.
