Jevon Terance to host fashion show at Oasis Marina
A runway fashion experience is making its way to the marina.
International fashion designer Jevon Terance, a Lorain native, will present a fashion show June 4 on the Oasis Marina Mile Long pier, 301 Lakeside Ave. in Lorain.
“I’m really excited for the show,” Terance said. “There will be aspects that people aren’t used to seeing in my shows such as incorporating technology and other surprises.”
The show will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. The summer/fall 2023 Desert Nights collection is inspired by Dubai, Terance said
“I was going to do a show in Dubai this past March, but we chose not to go that route,” he said. “I had already begun research a long time ago, so the collection is my interpretation of Dubai and resort fashion.”
The collection will display the transition of resort wear throughout various activities with a heavy emphasis on accessories and the brand’s logo.
“The collection shows what I would wear on the plane, at the resort, in the desert and at a desert tent party,” Terance said. “We’re telling a story of someone throughout their time in Dubai and how their outfits will transition throughout the process.
“My jam is to have pieces mixed with resort to show the introduction to fall with heavier pieces, or if you’re in the desert when the weather drops.”
The runway show incorporates size inclusivity that reflects the brand’s true clientele, Terance said.
“It’s going to be fun because we’re showing different size palettes on a higher level,” he said. “I want to tell a better story of who buys our pieces, and allow people to truly picture themselves in the clothing.”
Eventgoers are encouraged to wear their Jevon Terance merchandise to the show.
In case of inclement weather, the show will take place at 6 p.m., June 11.
“We want people to have that fashion week experience at our independent designer show, and to set the bar for people who may be inspired or looking to put on their own shows,” Terance said.
