Nancy A. Gorenshek

Nancy A. Gorenshek, 84, of Chagrin Falls, died unexpectedly at her home Wednesday November 22, 2023.

She was born April 12, 1939 in Lorain and had resided in the Cleveland area most of her life.

Nancy graduated from Lorain High School with the 1957A class. She attended the MB Johnson School of Nursing and received a Registered Nurse Diploma. Later, she attended Western Reserve University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing then earned a Master of Science in Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in 1969.

Nancy was employed at several hospitals in the Cleveland area retiring from University Hospitals of Cleveland health system.

She was a member and past president of the College Club of Cleveland and a member of the Case Western Reserve University Frances Payne Bolton Alumni. She enjoyed fishing, biking, camping and RV travels having visited many state and national parks. She had traveled to many locations in Canada and the United States including Alaska.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law: Bernice Gorenshek and Lois Gorenshek; nieces: Barb Gorenshek, Cheryl Hribar (Joe) and Lisa Dobson (Grant); nephew, Scott Gorenshek (Janet); six great nieces; one great nephew; two great-great nieces and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Johanna Gorenshek (nee Vidrick); brothers: Gordon and Leo Gorenshek; niece, Lora and dearest friend, Charlene Phelps.

The family will receive friends Wednesday November 29, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Home, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. The Rev Jay Ogan, deacon of St Peter Parish in Lorain, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
