The Nord Family Foundation awards $3.3M in funding
The Nord Family Foundation announced Feb. 29 the list of nonprofits in the fields of arts and culture, civic affairs, education and health and social services that have received grants this cycle, according to a news release.
At the Feb. 24 Board of Trustees meeting, grants approved totaled $3,176,275 to be disbursed in Lorain and Cuyahoga counties; Columbia, S.C.; metro Denver, Colo.; Boston, Mass.; Penn Yan, N.Y.; and other areas of interest, the release said.
Fifty-nine other actions totaling $142,794 also were ratified at the meeting bringing the total grants authorized in this round to $3,319,069, according to the release.
The Nord Family Foundation is a successor to the charitable trust originally established in 1952 by by Walter G. Nord.
The predecessor organization contributed more than $12 million to a variety of charitable causes between 1953 and 1988, primarily in Lorain County, the release said.
The Nord Family Foundation has contributed more than $165 million to nonprofits in northern Ohio and selected geographic areas of family interest, according to the release.
The Foundation only accepts grant applications online, accessible through the application portal on its website at https://www. nordff.org/.
The Board of Trustees of the Nord Family Foundation will meet again in June.
The next deadline for consideration of online grant applications is April 1.
