NASA Armstrong Advocacy Coalition hosing annual meeting
The NASA Armstrong Advocacy Coalition (NAAC) will host its annual meeting from 5-7 p.m., March 26, for its members at EHOVE, 316 W. Mason Road in Milan, according to a news release.
The organization is made up of community members passionate about ensuring the long-term viability of the Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility (ATF) located in Erie County, the release said.
To do this, the NASA Armstrong Advocacy Coalition has four core functions: advocacy; education; marketing; and coalition building, according to the release.
Those interested in getting involved are welcome to register for the annual meeting which also will cover their membership fee for the year, the release said.
The annual meeting will be an exciting event with two outstanding guest speakers, Col. Douglas Wheelock, and Col. Joseph E. Zeis, according to the release.
Wheelock will give attendees a unique opportunity to hear stories from an experienced astronaut, the release said.
He has been with NASA since 1998 and has accumulated more than 178 days in space including three unplanned spacewalks, the release said.
Currently, Zeis is senior advisor for Aerospace and Defense, a cabinet-level position for Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.
Zeis retired from the U.S. Air Force with over 26 years of service.
The annual meeting also will include light food and drinks.
“(The NASA Armstrong Advocacy Coalition) is excited to be hosting their annual meeting with two well accomplished and extremely knowledgeable guest speakers and its supportive members,” the release said.
At the event, the NASA Armstrong Advocacy Coalition will provide updates on its activity and progress, inform about the Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility, raise awareness of aeronautics, aerospace, defense industry locally, and encourage new membership and support of the NASA Armstrong Advocacy Coalition and the Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility.
