More than 200 attend Nathan Perry Chapter steak fry

The Nathan Perry Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution in Lorain County extended its gratitude to American Legion No. 30, 112 W. Erie Ave. in Lorain, for hosting a recent steak fry in support of the Nathan Perry Chapter and its charitable endeavors, according to a news release.

Robbie Brown, regent for the Nathan Perry Chapter, expressed her gratitude for the American Legion’s generous donation of $2,000, the release said.

“This contribution will be reinvested back into the community, furthering its mission to make a positive impact on those we serve,” the release said. “We extend our gratitude to the more than 200 guests who attended our event.”

The evening was filled with a steak meal and lively entertainment provided by DJ Mike Wheeler, who kept the atmosphere vibrant with various raffles, according to the release.

“One of the raffles featured a mouthwatering buckeye cake created by the talented cake artist Sean Buckholz, from Lorain,” the release said. “Julie Limpach, a member of the Nathan Perry Chapter, was the lucky winner of the cake, which coincidentally happened to be her birthday.”

The proceeds from the donated cake will be used to purchase a brick for Pulaski Park, with all funds going toward supporting veteran events, parks and the Lorain County nonprofit, Path and Green, according to the release.
