Janice Cecil, beloved wife, mother, grandmothe­r passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Mercy New Hospice at the age of 87. Born in West Virginia to Guy and Lenora Lucas, Janice lived a life rich in love, kindness, and devotion.

A dedicated homemaker, Janice found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her passion for baking, especially Christmas cookies, crafting, crocheting, camping, gardening, and solving jigsaw puzzles filled her days with creativity and contentmen­t. Yet, it was her compassion­ate nature and unwavering generosity that truly defined her character. Janice possessed a heart of gold, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Janice’s greatest source of happiness was her family. She adored spending time with her grandchild­ren, greatgrand­children, and great-great-grandchild­ren, relishing every moment shared together. Her love knew no bounds, and her legacy of warmth and affection will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Janice is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Robert J. Cecil Sr., her children Robert J. Cecil Jr., Randall (Diana) Cecil, Debra (Mark) Shiltz, and David (Lisa Norris) Cecil, along with seven grandchild­ren, 17 greatgrand­children, and 16 great-great-grandchild­ren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and daughterin-law, Georgia Cecil.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, located at 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 27th, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral center, followed by interment at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
