Browns’ Bryant indicted on felony drug charges

Browns linebacker Ar monty Bryant has been indicted on two felony drug charges.

Bryant and former teammate De’Ante Saunders were arrested on Christmas following a traffic stop. Police say they found marijuana , prescripti­on drugs and a loaded hand gun in Saunders’ car. He also was cited for drunken driving. The Browns later released him from their practice squad.

Bryant was suspended by former general manager Ray Farmer for Cleveland’ s final two games. The 25-year- old remains on the Browns’ roster.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned in Cu ya hog a County Common Pleas Court on Feb 24. An at torney for Saunders had submitted a not guilty plea on Dec .28 to operatin ga vehicle impaired and speeding on his behalf.

Bryant was selected by the Browns in the seventh round of the 2013 draft.

PAGE» Sacramento Kings coach George Karl says he has a positive outlook after meeting with team general manager Vlade Divac amid a losing streak and speculatio­n about his job.

Karl said Wed n esday before the Kings76 ers game in Phil adelphi a that he and Diva care on the same page.

Karl says Div ac wants the team to win more games right now, and that’ s fine. Karl says“everyone should want to win more games.”

Karl and Divac met Tuesday in Philadelph­ia as the Kings are on a four-game losing streak, having lost eight of their last 10 games.

Divac said in a statement that Karl “is our coach and we’re collective­ly working through our issues.”

Karl declined t o offer more specifics about their meeting.

WNBA ANNOUNCES NEWPRESIDE­NT» Lisa Borders has been a fan of the WNBA ever since she helped bring a team to Atlanta. Now she’s the league’s new president.

The W NBA announced the move Wednesday, three months after former president Laurel J. Richie stepped down.

“I have been more than a fan. I led the effort to bring this team to Atlanta ,” said Borders, who describes herself as a raving fan. “I’ve been a season ticket holder ever since. I sit in the Holly wood seats, usually have lost my voice by the end of the game.”

Borders said she was approached about the opening by NBA Commission­er Adam Silver at a Duke Board of Trustees meeting in December. Both are graduate soft he school and serve toget her on the board. He asked her if she would be interested in the job.

She had a simple question for him: “Are you committed to the league?”

He said that he was “1 ,000 percent committed and I’m in it to win it ,” Borders recalled. “It ’s great now, but we can take it and make it even better.”.
