Students participate in symposium
Students at the University of Findlay recently participated in the annual Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity.
Held on campus, undergraduate and graduate students were given the opportunity to share their research, creativity and professional learning experiences with the University and community.
Many students received honors during the Symposium’s awards ceremony. Local students include: • Flavio Ajdinaj of Willowick, was name to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities.
• Myles Alexander of Euclid, was named to the IMA Accounting Honor Society.
• Nicole Babiak of Novelty, was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities.
• Chrysta Blechschmid of Aurora, presented “Oilers Serving Abroad.”
• Lynsey Englebrecht of Eastlake, was named as a Dana Scholar.
• Anthony Federico of Willoughby Hills, was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities.
• Teaona Goodman of Conneaut, was named as a graduating senior with a GPA of 3.6 or above.
• Samantha Grippe of Chardon, presented “Occupational Therapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant Collaboration.”
• Dylan Long of Eastlake, received the TEVA Outstanding Student award.
• Charles Manocchio of Chagrin Falls, presented “Effects of Varying Squat Kinematics on Center of Pressure Distribution at the Foot.”
• Gina Moschella of Chagrin Falls, was named as a graduating senior with a GPA of 3.6 or above and presented “Enteric Microbiological Evaluation as Bacterial Indicators of Human and NonHuman Source-Point Fecal Contamination in Benthic Nearshore Sediments.”
• Nicole Motuza of Willoughby Hills, presented “Collaboration in the Treatment of End Stage Renal Disease.”
• Jacob Myers of Shaker Heights, performed in the jazz ensemble.
• Samantha Szwejbka of Painesville, presented “Cultural and Socioeconomic Humility of Pharmacy Students.”
• Victoria Wallace of Eastlake, received the Aristos Eklektos Outstanding Student award.
• Daniel Weiland of Willoughby, received the Mylan Excellence in Pharmacy award.
• Tawna Whited of Madison, presented “Induction of Apoptosis and Generation of Reactive Oxygen Species by Novel Chalcone Derivatives.”
• Alexandria Zabiegala of Willowick, presented “Enteric Microbiological Evaluation as Bacterial Indicators of Human and Non-Human Source-Point Fecal Contamination in Benthic Nearshore Sediments.”
• Mikenzie Zullo of Ashtabula, presented “A Retrospective Analysis of the Utilization Rate of Current Stroke Prevention Scoring.”
Students graduate from Ohio Christian
• Karl Blackwell of Cleveland graduated from Ohio Christian University with an Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies.
• Kelly Munnings of Jefferson graduated with an Associate of Arts in Human Services.
• Timothy Boze of Richmond Heights graduated with a Master of Arts in Pastoral Care & Counseling.
• Cherron Phillips of Euclid graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Substance Abuse Counseling.
