Park District offers ‘Fall Flower Foray’

-

The Geauga Park District invites the public for a leisurely stroll on paved paths below sandstone cliffs and among towering prairie plants and diverse native fall flowers.

The “Fall Flower Foray” will take place 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 23, at Orchard Hills Park, 11340 Caves Road in Chester Township. No registration is required.

The former golf course property is now ablaze with color this time of year: coneflowers, goldenrods, sunflowers, ironweed, coreopsis, lobelia and towering prairie dock, to name a few, according to a news release. And Naturalist Judy Bradt-Barnhart will lead the way, pointing out the ledges to speak about rock formation and sharing thoughts on what’s blooming with its associated folklore.
