Local students named to dean’s list

The following area students have been named to the spring 2017 Dean’s List at Ashland University.

• Jennifer Raguz of Willoughby Hills, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Raguz is majoring in sport management. She is the daughter of John and Regina Raguz of Willoughby Hills.

• Kasey Petrecca of Willowick, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Petrecca is majoring in supply chain management. She is the daughter of John and Tammy Petrecca of Willowick. Petrecca is a 2013 graduate of Eastlake North High School.

• Camille Pollutro of Painesville, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Pollutro is majoring in health and risk communication, public relations and strategic communication. Pollutro is a 2016 graduate of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin.

• Mattie McCandless of Highland Heights, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. McCandless is majoring in nursing. She is the daughter of Michael and Trina McCandless of Highland Heights. McCandless is a 2013 graduate of Cornerstone Christian Academy.

• Elizabeth Polasky of Aurora, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Polasky is majoring in nursing. She is the daughter of Thomas and Heather Polasky of Aurora. Polasky is a 2013 graduate of Aurora High School.

• Molly Brys of Concord Township, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Brys is majoring in nursing. She is the daughter of Douglas and Connie Brys of Concord Township. Brys is a 2013 graduate of Riverside High School.

• Madeline Bals of Mentor, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Bals is majoring in dietetics. Bals is a 2016 graduate of Cornerstone Christian Academy.

• Samantha Birchall of Mentor, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Birchall is majoring in nursing. She is the daughter of Charles and Lisa Birchall of Mentor. Birchall is a 2013 graduate of Mentor High School.

• Kathryn Siefert of Highland Heights, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Siefert is majoring in digital media journalism and sport communication. She is the daughter of John and Jeanne Siefert of Highland Heights.

• Nicole Lederle of Newbury, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Lederle is majoring in integrated language arts. Lederle is a 2014 graduate of Newbury High School.

• Aubrey Jordan of Chardon, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Jordan is majoring in biochemistry. She is the daughter of George and Kelly Jordan of Chardon. Jordan is a 2013 graduate of Chardon High School.

• Chandler Walnsch of Chardon, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Walnsch is majoring in economics. He is the son of Ronald and Lori Walnsch of Chardon. Walnsch is a 2014 gradu- ate of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin.

• Samantha Stutzman of Chardon, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Stutzman is majoring in health and risk communication and public relations and strategic communication. Stutzman is a 2015 graduate of Lake Catholic High School.

• Mekenna Balasko of Willoughby, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Balasko is majoring in fashion merchandise. Balasko is a 2016 graduate of South High School.

• Amanda Chahulski of Wickliffe, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Chahulski is majoring in nursing. Chahulski is a 2015 graduate of Aurora High School.

• Jack Holl of Madison, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Holl is majoring in business management and entrepreneurship. He is the son of Jack Holl of Madison. Holl is a 2015 graduate of Madison High School.

• Nathaniel Urban of Willoughby, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Urban is majoring in health and risk communication and public relations and strategic communication. He is the son of Charles Urban and Jennifer Rus of Willoughby. Urban is a 2014 graduate of Willoughby South High School.

• Tyler Lance of Chagrin Falls, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Lance is majoring in digital media journalism and sport communication. He is the son of Ken and Lisa Lance of Chagrin Falls. Lance is a 2014 graduate of Kenston High School.

• Hayley Harris of Chagrin Falls, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Harris is majoring in early childhood intervention specialist. Harris is a 2016 graduate of Kenston High School.

• Emily Jereb of Concord Township, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Jereb is majoring in finance. She is the daughter of Thomas and Marianne Jereb of Concord Township. Jereb is a 2013 graduate of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin.

• Aidan Simenc of Willoughby, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Simenc is majoring in exercise science. He is the son of Thomas and Bridget Simenc of Willoughby. Simenc is a 2013 graduate of Willoughby South High School.

• Noah Cloonan of Kirtland, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Cloonan is majoring in digital media journalism and digital media production. Cloonan is a 2015 graduate of Cornerstone Christian Academy.

• Emmaline Kepp of Euclid, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Kepp is majoring in biology.

• Joshua Hauman of Aurora, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Hauman is majoring in economics. He is the son of Michael and Barbra Hauman of Aurora. Hauman is a 2013 graduate of Aurora High School.

• Justin Kowalski of Aurora, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Kowalski is majoring in biology. Kowalski is a 2016 graduate of Aurora High School.

• Dominic Giunta of Willoughby, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Giunta is majoring in physics. He is the son of Anthony and Erin Giunta of Willoughby. Giunta is a 2013 graduate of South High School.

• Charles Halatek of Concord Township, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Halatek is majoring in nursing. Halatek is a 2016 graduate of Riverside High School.

• Renee Borcas of Mentor, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Borcas is majoring in digital media production and digital media journalism. Borcas is a 2015 graduate of Lake Catholic High School.

• Justin Wazbinski of Aurora, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Wazbinski is majoring in marketing and supply chain management. He is the son of Robert and Leslie Wazbinski of Aurora. Wazbinski is a 2014 graduate of Aurora High School.

• Kaitlin Bean of Middlefield, was named to Ashland University’s Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Bean is majoring in early childhood education. She is the daughter of Gregory and Shari Bean of Middlefield. Bean is a 2015 graduate of Cardinal High School.

To be eligible for this honor, a student must be enrolled full time at Ashland University and achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Mentor resident named to dean’s list

The dean’s list recognizes grade point averages of at least 3.6 out of a possible 4.0.

The following local student achieved Juniata’s dean’s list for the spring semester of 2017:

Megan Elizabeth Moroney of Mentor is a junior studying marketing analytics.

Moroney is the daughter of Brian and Christina Moroney.

Juniata College is a private, liberal arts college located in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
