Volunteer Fair to be held at Willowick Library
RSVP of Lake County, in collaboration with the Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library, will be hosting its first Volunteer Fair.
The event to be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Willowick Library, 263 E. 305th St. will feature 18 Lake County nonprofit organizations in search of volunteers.
Refreshments will be available. There also will be door prizes and vendor bingo for attendees to participate in.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering, but doesn’t know how to go about it or where they are best able to help, is encouraged to attend the event.
There has been so much interest in the event from Lake County’s nonprofit organizations that
organizers have had to start turning away agencies who want to showcase their volunteer opportunities, said Lori Caszatt, communications and development manager for Willoughby Eastlake Public Library.
According to Caszatt, they have turned away at least five nonprofit organizations because of lack of space at the venue and are still receiving calls daily from additional nonprofits.
Agencies that are not able to set up a display table due to space constraints will be submitting their literature to be handed out during the event, so attendees can take home volunteer information for these organizations.
Event organizers anticipate this becoming an annual event.
“As long as it is successful and we have many attendees, we plan to do it again next year in a much bigger venue,” Caszatt said.
“With all the interest we have received, it really speaks to the fact that nonprofits in Lake County really need volunteer help.”
