Bond set for Madison Twp. man
Man accused of severely injuring 47-day-old twins
Bond has been set at $20,000/10 percent cash or surety with several conditions for a Madison Township man accused of severely injuring his 47-day-old twin children.
Chad Humberston, 37, of 1462 Chapman Ave., is facing two second-degree felony counts of child endangering. He was arraigned on those charges in front of Painesville Municipal Court Judge Michael Cicconetti Nov. 17.
According to Madison Township police:
On Oct. 31, Humberston’s 47-day-old son was taken to Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, according to the report. The infant was found to have brain trauma as well as fractures to his extremities.
The police department was contacted by the hospital and an investigation began.
Madison Township detectives learned that the infant has a twin sister. Detectives arranged for the female twin to be examined and learned that she had factures to her skull and extremities.
During the subsequent investigation, probable cause was developed that led to the arrest of Humberston on Nov. 16.
Officials said that Humberston has been cooperative with authorities and turned himself in to police custody.
For the conditions of his bond, Humberston cannot have any contact with minor children, his own or others, and he is not allowed to leave the state. He is also being given a GPS monitor and must cooperate with Job and Family Services.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 27. If convicted of the felonies, he faces up to 16 years behind bars.
