Gratitude expressed to senior-levy backers

-

We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the voters of Lake County for your support of our Senior Services Levy, Issue 4. Passage of the levy reflects the community’s commitment and sense of responsibility to its senior population and ensures continued critical services to keep seniors safe in their own homes.

Without Issue 4, we would have realized significant cuts to senior services, programs and local senior centers. The increase in and aging of our population, along with continued reductions in federal funding, made Issue 4 a necessity. Even with its passage, we will continue to battle decreasing federal dollars and intensify our advocacy efforts for seniors.

Our desire to provide the best services and programs for Lake County is what drove us to ask for you generous support. We will continue to be careful stewards of the Senior Services Levy funding and will ensure that older adults receive the cost-effective services they need to remain healthy and economically secure in their own homes and communities.

We are grateful for the hard work and determination of the volunteers and committee members who donated countless hours working on the campaign.

We extend a sincere thank you to Lake County Commissioners Jerry Cirino, Dan Troy and John Hamercheck for their efforts on behalf of the levy. Their expertise, energy and efforts to Support Issue 4 and its importance to the senior community were greatly appreciated.

We also want to express our gratitude to Willoughby Mayor David Anderson, who volunteered to chair the Issue 4 campaign.

Finally, we thank you for your vote of confidence. We are truly grateful and humbled by the support from the great peo- ple of Lake County. Jason Boyd, Lake County administrator Joseph R. Tomsick, chief executive officer, Lake County Council on Aging
