Area residents in theatre seminar
Students from the area were among 20 students who participated in BW’s “Theatre Seminar in London: The Art and Business of Theatre” program in London and Stratfordupon-Avon, England, during the spring 2017 semester.
The following local students participated in the seminar:
• Alessandra Manfredi of Cleveland, a graduate of Cleveland Heights High School majoring in psychology and theatre dance and movement.
• Grant Strlich-Waybright of Chardon, a graduate of Ohio Connections Academy majoring in acting.
• Hannah Maier of Cleveland Heights, a graduate of Trinity High School majoring in arts management and entrepreneurship.
• Rose Musto of Cleveland, a graduate of Hawken School majoring in theatre design and technical studies.
The group completed a three-week immersion course in British theatre introducing the historically important theatre culture of London before going on a nine-day experience led by theatre professors Jeff Herrmann and Bob Taylor.
The students attended eight performances, including “Julius Caesar” and “Woyzeck.” They toured backstage at the National Theatre and the exhibition at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
While abroad, the students also had the opportunity to visit Hampton Court Palace, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Shakespeare’s birthplace.
