House of Mews Rescue group to be featured nonprofit at Monsters’ game

- Staff report

House of Mews Rescue, an all-volunteer group that rescues abandoned, abused and neglected cats and kittens in Lake County and surrounding areas, will be the featured nonprofit at an upcoming Cleveland Monsters game.

On March 20 when the Monsters take on the Chicago Wolves at Quicken Loans Arena, proceeds from a 50/50 raffle will go to House of Mews.

Discounted tickets ($20 each) are available, and must be bought by Feb. 23. Seats will be located in Sections 131-133, Rows 17-20.

A portion from each ticket will also benefit the group. The game begins at 7 p.m.

For tickets, contact Erin Simmons at 216-420-2742 or by email at esimmons@ theqarena.com.

House of Mews has been operational for more than year, and has adopted out 125 cats in 2017. It is a foster-based nonprofit that depends solely on donations and fundraisers. To prepare fosters for their forever homes, the volunteers nurture and socialize them in safe, loving, cage-free environments while providing time to heal along with needed medical services if necessary.

The third Saturday of each month, the group holds adoptions at Pet Supplies Plus, 7315 Mentor Ave., Mentor, from noon to 3:30 p.m.

The group, which is based in Mentor, is always in need of volunteers and donations.

The group’s email is houseofmewsrescue@ gmail.com and its website is www.houseofmewsrescue.org.
