East Cleveland man faces weapons charge
A 23-year-old East Cleveland man arrested Feb. 21 in Mentor faced a judge the same day after being accused of a felony firearms offense and several misdemeanors, court records state.
Jocquise X. Harris, of 14506 Potomac Ave., is charged with fourth-degree felony improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, minor misdemeanor open container prohibited, unclassified misdemeanor driving under suspension and a minor misdemeanor turn-signal offense.
If convicted of the felony alone, Harris could receive up to 18 months behind bars.
Harris is being held on a $20,000/10 percent cash or surety bond and has a pretrial/preliminary hearing scheduled March 1, according to his arraignment file.
Man accused of drug offenses
A Painesville man is free after posting 10 percent of a $50,000 cash or surety bond following his arraignment on numerous drug charges in Mentor Municipal Court Feb. 21, court records show.
Joseph J. Chinchar, 24, of 943 Penn Place, faces third-degree felony conveyance of certain items onto the grounds of a detention facility, fifth-degree felony cocaine possession and minor misdemeanor marijuana possession, his arraignment paperwork confirms.
If convicted of the felony counts, Chinchar could get up to four years behind bars.
He’s scheduled to reappear for a pretrial/preliminary hearing March 1, court documents state.
