The filing deadline for write-in candidates for the May 8 primary election has passed.

In the 14th District U.S. Representative race, Democrat James Rajiah of Stow has filed as a write-in candidate. Rajiah will be running against Betsy Rader of Russell Township in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Rep. Dave Joyce, R-Bainbridge Township, remains unopposed in his primary after the write-in deadline.

Eastlake Republican Mike Zuren will appear as a write-in candidate in the State Representative 60th District race. There are no other Republicans filed in the race. Incumbent Rep. John Rogers of Mentor-onthe-Lake is running unopposed in the Democratic primary.

Perry Village Democrat Rick Walker is running as a write-in candidate in the State Representative 61st District. Walker was intending to run as a full candidate, but opted to run as a write-in after the Lake County Elections Board informed him he did not have enough valid signatures to appear on the ballot. He is the only Democrat in the primary. John Plecnik of Willoughby Hills and Jamie Callender of Concord Township will square off in the Republican primary.

Democrat Darya Klammer of Concord Township will appear as a write-in for the 11th District Court of Appeals 2/9/19 seat. She is the only Democrat in the primary. Republicans Matt Lynch and Colleen Mary O’Toole are facing off in the Republican primary.

Democrat Garret Westhoven is running as a write-in candidate for Geauga County Auditor. He’s the only Democrat seeking the office. Incumbent Frank Gliha is running against Charles E. Walder in the Republican primary.
