In addition to providing monetary donations, staff from a local business dedicated their time and talents to support the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland.

Lake Business Products in Eastlake recently participated in the RISE & Dine event, where they prepared a meal with a professional chef and served families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.

RISE & Dine is a fundraising campaign for Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland that supports families whose children receive treatment at area medical centers by providing a home-like environment and essential resources and services.

“I like to give back to the community as much as I can,” said Lake Business Products CEO Terri Cain. “I personally chose the Ronald McDonald House, because I like the cause. So, I went to the executive director to see what we could do to service them and he told us about this opportunity.”

Cain said the chef guided the group through preparation of a meal using fresh ingredients.

“The chef was great,” she said.

After preparing and serving the meal, the group was invited to dine and talk to the families.

“It was a two-way street,” Cain said. “It was a great team building activity for the staff and it was great for the families.”

Two groups from Lake Business Products participated on April 5 and 12.

A gift of $400 provides one dinner, everything is ready for the group to help prepare and serve a meal to 55 families and the groups may consist of four to 10 friends, family members, coworkers or civic members 14 years and older, according to the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland.
