Man arraigned on felony assault charge
A Madison Township man arrested by police there in connection with an April 21 incident appeared May 22 in Painesville Municipal Court on a charge of felonious assault, court records show.
Dennis Melreit Jr., 31, of 1825 Bennett Road, is charged with second-degree felonious assault and is being held on a $5,000/10 percent cash or surety bond pending a May 29 preliminary hearing.
If convicted, Melreit could get up to eight years behind bars.
Painesville man faces burglary charge
An 18-year-old Painesville man accused of getting into an occupied structure illegally April 30 in Painesville was arraigned on multiple charges May 21 in Painesville Municipal Court, records there show.
Luis U. Reynoso, of 780 E. Erie St., faces a seconddegree burglary count, along with misdemeanor counts including driving under the influence of alcohol with a .149 bloodalcohol content reading, driving left of center and driving under suspension.
If he’s convicted of the felony burglary offense alone, Reynoso could receive up to eight years in confinement.
His court paperwork states he’s being held on a $10,000/10 percent cash or surety bond.
Reynoso has a pretrial/preliminary hearing scheduled May 29, records state.
Ashtabula man accused of robbery
A 22-year-old Ashtabula man accused of attempting to inflict harm on another person during a Feb. 16 robbery attempt in Madison Township faces multiple charges in Painesville Municipal Court, records there confirm.
Reginald M. McHenry II, whose address is listed in his arraignment file as 1649 W. Eighth St., is charged with second-degree felony robbery and fourth-degree misdemeanor criminal trespass.
If he’s convicted of the felony alone, McHenry could get up to eight years behind bars.
He’s free on a personal recognizance bond while awaiting a June 4 pretrial/preliminary hearing, his court paperwork states.
