One juvenile stabbed, another detained

Painesvill­e police are investigat­ing a July 12 incident in which one juvenile allegedly was stabbed by another.

Police responded at about 11:04 a.m. to the 900 block of North State Street for a report of a stabbing involving two juveniles, according to a city of Painesvill­e news release.

Officers located the alleged victim, a 15-year-old female, and the suspect, a 14-yearold male. The male was detained on scene without incident, the news release stated.

Both juveniles were transporte­d to TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township by Painesvill­e Fire and Rescue. The female victim then was flown to MetroHealt­h Medical Center for additional treatment.

The male suspect is in custody at the Lake County Juvenile Detention Center, where he is awaiting a hearing.

An investigat­ion into the incident is continuing. Anyone with additional informatio­n about what occurred is asked to call Painesvill­e Police Department at 440-392-5840. theft of a firearm and two first-degree misdemeano­r theft counts, her record confirms.

If convicted of the felony offense alone, Cantrell could get up to three years behind bars.

She was issued a personal recognizan­ce bond with the condition that a parent co-sign for her release, court documents state. Cantrell is due back in court July 17 for a pretrial/preliminar­y hearing.
