William “Bill” Dunning, 69, died un27, expectedly on the morning of July 2018 at his home. Born April 7, 1949 in Painesvill­e to Raymond Dunning and Anna Dale.

Bill is survived by his wife, Christina (nee: Sitko), whom he married on Octo “Dee” ber 12, 1968; his daughter Diana (Matt) Shirkey of Concord Twp.; grand Susan daughter, Briana Shirkey; sisters, Nettles of AZ and Linda Detwiler of Midby dle field. He was preceded in death his parents.

Bill was a lifelong area resident. He was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cavs and the Browns. He loved fishing, especially on his boat. Bill was a fitness enthusiast working out at the YMCA, includ life long ing weightlift­ing of which he competed in a few “drug free” bodybuildi­ng competitio­ns in his 30’s. His fitness passion was track and field, and he had been training for the last couple years to run in a Master’s Track & Field race with his daugh Veteran. ter.

Bill served in the US Air Force and was a Vietnam Bill also prided himself on teasing his family and friends – the greater the shock value, the louder his laughter! Bill loved his family fiercely and with all his heart. Bill was a wonderful, hard-working generous husband, father & grandfathe­r. Bill’s greatest joy was spending time with his loving family includ Carol ing sisters and brothers-in-law Jim (Debbie) Sitko, (Bernie) Wiorkowski, Marcia Russell, Karen (Billy) Thrasher, Donna (Mike) Mihalisin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 5:00-8:00pm at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (On St Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt 6/Chardon Square) Chardon. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 1 at 10am at the Church of St Mary, 401 North St, Chardon, of organi Mary, ficiated by Rev. John T. Burkley.
