Wide receiver Dez Bryant announced in a tweet during the Browns preseason game Aug. 9 that he plans to make a visit to Browns headquarters in Berea, possibly as soon as Aug. 13.

“Starting my visits next week...I’m cooing to the Land to see you, Mr. Dorsey,” Bryant tweeted shortly after 8 p.m.

Bryant has been a free agent since April, when the Cowboys released him after eight seasons in Dallas.

Earlier in the evening, Browns general manager John Dorsey told reporters at Met Life Stadium where the Browns played the Gi- ants that he had been trying to set up a visit for Bryant but that Bryant did not respond.

“If he returns a phone call (Bryant might get a tryout with the Browns,” Dorsey said. “But he doesn’t return any phone calls.”

Bryant had a quick response to that on Twitter:

“I’m going to play...just whenever I get ready... I’m not on anybody time...I’m still getting myself ready...if you disagree go to hell.”

The Browns are in a precarious situation at wide receiver. Josh Gordon is absent and no one knows when he might be back with the team. Ricardo Louis is out for the year recovering from neck surgery and rookie Antonio Callaway faces an uncertain future after being cited for marijuana possession in a traffic stop Aug. 5.

Browns receiver Jarvis Landry is trying to recruit Bryant.

“For real. I wouldn’t mind playing for the Browns,” Bryant tweeted. “I just want to get right first.”

Bryant, 29, caught 531 passes for 7,459 yards and 73 touchdowns for the Cowboys from 2010-2017.
