Chagrin River Watershed Project seeks input from residents and those who appreciate natural resources.

- Staff report

The Chagrin River Watershed Partners, Inc., is inviting members of the community to give input regarding water pollution, erosion and flooding challenges in the lower Chagrin River Subwatershed.

The CRWP is working to update the Chagrin River Action Plan for the Town of Willoughby Chagrin River Subwatershed.

“A watershed plan is a comprehensive plan for achieving water resource goals for a geographically define watershed,” according to a news release from CRWP.

The Chagrin Subwatershed encompasses about 18 square miles and includes parts of Eastlake, Willoughby and Mentor.

Once updated, the plan will identify critical areas and needs for natural resource protection and restoration to areas that drain to the Chagrin River and its tributaries in the subwatershed. Major tributaries include Corporation Creek along with Ward/Newell Creek.

CRWP will hold a public planning meeting at 4 p.m. Aug. 21 at Eastlake City Hall, 35150 Lakeshore Blvd.

If anyone wishes to provide input but cannot attend the meeting, they can reach CRWP by phone at 440-975-3870 ext. 1006 or email kbrewster@crwp.org. Comments must by made by Aug. 16. A Chagrin River Watershed Planning survey is available online and can be completed by visiting www. surveymonkey.com/r/chagrinsurvey.
