Crews demolishing putt-putt course
The mountain that commuters are used to seeing is about to become a thing of the past.
The mountain that commuters are used to seeing at the former Putt-Putt Golf and Games is about to become a thing of the past.
Demolition crews started working this week to clear away the trees, the fake mountain, and other props left behind by the former occupants to make way for a new business.
Willoughby Economic Director Thomas Thielman said the demolition began Aug. 27 at the site that has sat vacant for eight years. It is expected to take approximately a week to complete.
Immediately following the demolition, crews will begin the construction of a 9,000-square-foot medical office building for Aligned Chiropractic. The construction is expected to completed by May.
Aligned Chiropractic is located in Mentor and is a full-service medical chiropractic and physical rehabilitation center operated by Dr. Timothy Moore.
Thielman said Moore and his partners have been searching for suitable sites where they could build an office building to accommodate their growing business.
“After careful research and discussions with the City Administration and Ward Council, Aligned Chiropractic felt confident that the redevelopment of the former putt-putt course on Mentor Avenue was an outstanding opportunity,” Thielman said.
The project is expected to cost $2 million, which includes the purchase of the land at 38882 Mentor Ave. and the new construction.
