Ice Breakers fall, still searching for first win
The Mentor Ice Breakers are still looking for their first-ever victory after a 7-2 loss at Danville on Oct. 3.
Mentor, which fell to 0-3, and Danville were tied at 1-1 when the Ice Breakers’ Paul Lamoureax scored at the 8:06 mark of the second period. Danville then scored four straight to make it a 5-1 game.
Alexander Morrow’s goal at 18:01 of the second stopped Danville’s streak on the power play to make it 5-2.
Two goals by Danville in the third finished off the victory. Justin Brausen led the home team with two goals and two assists.
The Ice Breakers return home for a two-game set at the Mentor Civic Arena Nov. 9 and 10 against Watertown.

PARSONS TO SIGN WITH LAKERS AFTER BUYOUT » A person familiar with the negotiations says Tyson Chandler is getting his contract bought out by the Phoenix Suns, and plans to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers once he clears waivers.
The 36-year-old center appeared in seven games this season for the Suns, backing up No. 1 overall draft pick Deandre Ayton. Chandler is in the last year of his four-year contract with the Suns, and was to make about $13.5 million this season.

BOLT CONTINUING SOCCER PURSUIT » Olympic sprinting great Usain Bolt will continue to pursue his dream of playing professional football despite his failure to reach a deal with Central Coast to play in Australian football’s A-League.
After a two-month trial Bolt this week rejected Central Coast’s offer of a $150,000 contract to play in the current A-League season. He had been hoping for sponsors to come forward to swell his salary to a reported $3 million.
After also unsuccessfully trying out for teams in Germany, Norway and South Africa, the eighttime Olympic gold medalist said he remains hopeful of eventually winning a professional contract.
