Event ben­e­fits Christ­mas For Kids

The an­nual Christ­mas For Kids Chance Auc­tion and Din­ner has been set for Nov. 10.

It will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at Vine­yard Com­mu­nity Church, 1928 E. 300th St. in Wick­liffe. Pro­ceeds will help pro­vide toys and food bas­kets for the an­nual Christ­mas For Kids event, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease

Din­ner is $20 per per­son though chil­dren un­der 6 eat free. In ad­di­tion to a main dish, the menu will in­clude pasta, bread, salad, dessert, and bev­er­ages, the re­lease stated.

At­ten­dees can buy tick­ets that night for a host of prizes.

Fu­neral home host­ing can­dle­light ser­vice

The Behm Fam­ily Fu­neral Homes in Madi­son and Geneva will be host­ing their 19th an­nual com­mu­nity “Can­dle­light Ser­vice of Re­mem­brance” at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 19.

“Dur­ing this hol­i­day sea­son, we feel this is one of the many ways we can as­sist fam­i­lies while also pro­vid­ing a trib­ute to those we lover,” stated Julie Behm, co­or­di­na­tor of this year’s event, in a news re­lease.

Fam­i­lies are en­cour­aged to bring or­na­ments in honor of loved ones to be placed on Behm’s out­side Tree of Re­mem­brance.

The pro­gram, to which the com­mu­nity is in­vited, will be held at The Behm Fam­ily Fu­neral Home, 26 River St. in Madi­son. The can­dle-light­ing cer­e­mony will also in­clude a spe­cial mes­sage, live en­ter­tain­ment and re­fresh­ments.

Pre-regis­tra­tion is wel­come but not needed for this event, the re­lease stated. Fam­ily and friends are in­vited and all should plan to ar­rive be­tween 6 and 6:30 p.m. to reg­is­ter for the pro­gram.

WRJSL sets date for char­ity ball

West­ern Re­serve Ju­nior Ser­vice League is host­ing its Can­dle­light Mas­quer­ade Char­ity Ball on Dec. 8.

This year’s event will be held at StoneWater Golf Club, 1 Club Drive in High­land Heights. Guests can en­joy an open bar, four­course meal, danc­ing, and the chance to par­tic­i­pate in a silent auc­tion full of op­por­tu­ni­ties and gift items, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease.

In ad­di­tion, Bill Brown, owner of W. Brown Cus­tom Jewelry and De­sign in Wil­loughby, has de­signed a set of amethyst ear­rings and neck­lace for the Ball that one guest will win through a spe­cial raf­fle.
