Event benefits Christmas For Kids

The annual Christmas For Kids Chance Auction and Dinner has been set for Nov. 10.

It will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at Vineyard Community Church, 1928 E. 300th St. in Wickliffe. Proceeds will help provide toys and food baskets for the annual Christmas For Kids event, according to a news release

Dinner is $20 per person though children under 6 eat free. In addition to a main dish, the menu will include pasta, bread, salad, dessert, and beverages, the release stated.

Attendees can buy tickets that night for a host of prizes.

Funeral home hosting candleligh­t service

The Behm Family Funeral Homes in Madison and Geneva will be hosting their 19th annual community “Candleligh­t Service of Remembranc­e” at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 19.

“During this holiday season, we feel this is one of the many ways we can assist families while also providing a tribute to those we lover,” stated Julie Behm, coordinato­r of this year’s event, in a news release.

Families are encouraged to bring ornaments in honor of loved ones to be placed on Behm’s outside Tree of Remembranc­e.

The program, to which the community is invited, will be held at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. in Madison. The candle-lighting ceremony will also include a special message, live entertainm­ent and refreshmen­ts.

Pre-registrati­on is welcome but not needed for this event, the release stated. Family and friends are invited and all should plan to arrive between 6 and 6:30 p.m. to register for the program.

WRJSL sets date for charity ball

Western Reserve Junior Service League is hosting its Candleligh­t Masquerade Charity Ball on Dec. 8.

This year’s event will be held at StoneWater Golf Club, 1 Club Drive in Highland Heights. Guests can enjoy an open bar, fourcourse meal, dancing, and the chance to participat­e in a silent auction full of opportunit­ies and gift items, according to a news release.

In addition, Bill Brown, owner of W. Brown Custom Jewelry and Design in Willoughby, has designed a set of amethyst earrings and necklace for the Ball that one guest will win through a special raffle.
