Fair­mount Cen­ter elects board mem­bers

Fair­mount Cen­ter for the Arts an­nounced a new Board of Directors has been sworn in to pro­vide vision and lead­er­ship to the nearly 50-year-old non-profit arts ed­u­ca­tion or­ga­ni­za­tion.

On Nov. 1, the Fair­mount Cen­ter held its an­nual meet­ing. he fol­low­ing board mem­bers were elected: Mar­garet Carl­son, Me­lanie Maloney, Toby Maloney, Rick Solon and Lor­raine Sz­abo, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease.

The Fair­mount Cen­ter also ded­i­cated the for­mer Stu­dio B to be re­named the “Matthew P. Fig­gie Stu­dio” in honor of the for­mer chair­man who died in Au­gust, the re­lease stated.

The cen­ter pro­vides classes, work­shops, com­mu­nity per­for­mances, and op­por­tu­ni­ties in mu­sic, dance, theater, vis­ual arts and fit­ness.
