School’s Safety Day a success
All Saints School recently had our first Safety Day.
The purpose of this day was to allow our students, faculty, and staff to familiarize themselves with the many agencies throughout Northeast Ohio that keep them safe at home, at school, and in the community.
Students interacted with EMS officials, firefighters, crime scene technicians, police officers, sheriff deputies, (including Teddy Trooper), the Coast Guard, SWAT members and federal agents.
They saw how footprints and fingerprints are helpful in investigating a crime, how SWAT robots are used to help in dangerous situations, the equipment that is carried on a fire truck and so much more.
It is important for our students to have positive interactions with the people who help and protect them.
I think the professionals had almost as much fun as our children.
We are most appreciative and grateful to the following agencies. Thank you for your service: FBI - Cleveland Division United States Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force Wickliffe Police Department Western Lake County Emergency Response Team Wickliffe Fire Department Hon. Marissa Cornachio Willoughby Municipal Court Willoughby Fire Department Willoughby Police Department Euclid Police Department Mentor Police Department Ohio State Highway Patrol Lake County Crime Lab United States Coast Guard Station Fairport We would also like to thank Mr. Bob Casar for having the vision and tenacity to organize this day. One of the children summed up the day when he exclaimed, “This is the best thing that’s ever happened at school!” Terri Armelli Principal All Saints School of St. John Vianney Wickliffe
