Breakers lose late

The Mentor Ice Breakers used a four-goal second period to rally from 3-0 and 4-1 deficits but lost, 6-5, at Watertown on Dec. 7.

Anton Lennartsso­n’s goal with 17 seconds remaining in regulation clinched the win for Watertown. Mentor had tied the game at 5 when Richard Pinkowski scored at the 5:35 mark of the third period.

The Ice Breakers fell to 4-9 and their 12 points put them in last place in the six-team Federal League.

Mentor also got goals from Gordy Bonnel, Ryan Alves, Declan Conway and Thomas Devesyre. Ivan Vilcauskas, Pinkowski and Alexander Morrow each had two assists.

The Ice Breakers outshot Watertown in the game, 38-32.

Mentor plays at Elmira on Dec. 8. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
