HEAP talk in Geauga County
Natalie Pajk will provide an informational talk on the Home Energy Assistance Program from 11 a.m. to noon, Dec. 14, at the West Geauga Senior Center, 12650 West Geauga Plaza, unit 4, in Chester Township.

Madison church plans Dec. 15 events
Park United Methodist Church announced it will host its annual cookie stroll from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 15.
The church, 31 Park St. in Madison Village, will have home-baked cookies and candy to sell at $7 a pound.
Later the same day it will have a fried chicken dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and $4.50 for children ages 4 through 10. Children 3 and under will be served for free.
A holiday service with entertainment in the sanctuary takes place after dinner.
Wellness series looks at mindfulness tips
Wellness coach Emma Giardini will be discussing how keeping a positive, playful outlook helps children to create a joyous year at the Jan. 5 installment of Lake Health’s Children’s Wellness Series.
The session will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Wellness Campus, 8655 Market St. in Mentor. Children will participate in an activity that demonstrates how expressing gratitude is a gift that keeps on giving and learn mindfulness tips and daily practices that will help them dream big, according to a news release.
Afterwards, the exercise specialist will take the participants through calming breathing and stretching techniques.
The recommended age range is 8–12, and parents must be present with the child.
The program is $5 per child. Space is limited to 25 people, so it is recommended that those interested should sign up early.

Knights of Columbus hosting breakfast
The Geneva-Madison Knights of Columbus monthly breakfast on Dec. 16 will feature “Santa who loves Jesus.”
The menu will include pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, sausage gravy and biscuit, fruit cup, juices, and Beverages.
The all-you-can-eat breakfast costs $7, or $3 for children ages 3-10, or free for those under 3. The maximum cost for a family with children is $25. The monthly Third Sunday breakfast supports local charities, according to a news release.
