Chardon resident chosen for team
Area residents in Criminal Justice Club
The following students are members of the Criminal Justice Club at Ashland University.
Camille Pollutro of Painesville, is a member. Pollutro is majoring in criminal justice and health and risk communication. Pollutro is a 2016 graduate of Notre Dame Cathedral Latin.
Molly Madill of Aurora, is a member. Madill is majoring in forensic biology. Madill is a 2017 graduate of Aurora High School.
Alexis Little of South Euclid is a member. Little is majoring in psychology. Little is a 2018 graduate of Charles F. Brush High School.
Members of the Criminal Justice Club hold regular meetings and host guest speakers.
They also work to promote the study of criminal justice. Chardon resident Samantha Stutzman, a senior public relations and strategic communication and health and risk communication major at Ashland University, has been selected as a member of Ashland University’s National Bateman Case Study Competition Team.
This team is under the supervision of faculty advisor, Shawn Orr.
Stutzman is a 2015 graduate of Lake Catholic High School.
Shawn Orr, Communication Studies faculty and Bateman Case Study Team adviser, said “This competition provides a great opportunity for our top public relations students to develop, implement and assess a campaign from start to finish. The client this year is the National PRSA Foundation, whose goal is to promote diversity in the fields of public relations and communication. We look forward to partnering with both internal and external communities to move this initiative forward.”
The Bateman Case Study Competition was established in 1973 to help provide college students with the chance to compete with their peers across the nation, and gain hands-on experience in executing a public relations campaign.
Every year, Bateman selects a worthy company or organization as the client for each participating PRSSA chapter to represent.
The students will conduct their campaign from Feb. 11 to March 11, 2019. The top three finalists of the competition will present their campaign to representative of the selected organization and will be recognized at the PRSSA National Conference.
The first-place winning team will receive a prize of $3,500, the second-place team will receive a $2,500 prize, and the third-place team will receive a $1,500 prize.
