Meanwhile, village Police Chief Troy McIntosh thanked the many area law enforcement agencies that provided “immense assistance” during Huffman’s funeral on Nov. 24.
Some of those departments and special units included the Willoughby Police Department Honor Guard, for providing a gun salute; Cleveland Police Department Pipes and Drums, for sending a bagpiper to both the funeral and cemetery services; and Madison Township Police Department for covering the village so all village officers could attend the funeral.
“Countless others reached out with support and offers of assistance during the last couple weeks, and myself and the entire department are really grateful for everybody’s help,” McIntosh said.
Finally, McIntosh also commended Madison Village’s police officers for planning and participating in Huffman’s funeral service, as well as filling additional shifts and openings on the schedule following his death.
“All of this, of course, comes at what has been a very difficult time for them and other people in the department,” he said.
