House fire under investigation
Eastlake Fire Department was called to a house fire at about 9 p.m., Feb. 8.
The first floor of the home, at 1710 E. 337th St., was fully involved when crews arrived, according to a report.
“The homeowner was a gentleman who attempted to put it out before calling” the fire department, Battalion Chief Keith Skinner said. “The Red Cross was called to assist the homeowner.” No one was injured. The fire originated on the main floor, but no further detail was available. The cause was still under investigation Feb. 9.
Firefighters were on scene for a few hours, Skinner said, adding that the weather was a factor.
Five departments provided mutual aid: Willoughby, Wickliffe, Willoughby Hills, Kirtland and Euclid.
