Fish fry dinners

The following are some of the fish fry dinners open to the public planned in The News-Herald coverage area.

Lake County

• St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road in Concord Township, will host the 18th annual Friday fish fry beginning March 8 and continuing through April 12 in the school MPR and Gym.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinners will be served until 7:30. The fish fry offers a dine-in, all-youcan-eat buffet for $15 for adults; $7 for child’s portion (ages 6-12) and free for children age 5 and younger. Take-out dinners start at $8.

The menu includes peeln-eat shrimp, cod, tilapia, mussels in garlic butter and homemade seafood chowder.

• VFW Post 7754, 540 New St. in Fairport Harbor, will host fish fry lunches and dinner every Friday through Lent.

Lunch is served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinners will be served 4 to 7 p.m. Carry-out is available.

Shrimp dinners are also available.

• Cleveland Elks Lodge No. 18, 38860 Mentor Ave. in Willoughby, will host dinners, 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Fridays during Lent.

Choices are walleye, lake perch, cod, shrimp, seafood cakes and steak dinners. All dinners include soup, coleslaw and choice of potato or macaroni and cheese. Homemade fruit pie is also available.

• St. John Vianney, 7575 Bellflower Road in Mentor, hosts fish fry dinners from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Fridays during Lent, March 8 to April 12 in its Father Kline Social Center.

Dinners include soup, salad, coleslaw, bakes and fried fish, pierogies, mac and cheese, rolls and dessert. Chicken fingers are available for children as well. Cost of the dinners is $12 for adults, $11 for seniors, $5 for children ages 5 to 10 and free for children younger than 4.

• St. Justin Martyr hosts Lenten fish fry dinners from 5 to 7 p.m. in Lambur Hall at 35781 Stevens Blvd. in Eastlake.

Dine-in and carryout are available.

Cost is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors age 59 and older, and $6 for children 12 and younger. Ice cream sundaes are available for $1 more.

• St. Mary of the Assumption serves up its fish fry dinners from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Fridays, March 8 through April 12 in the Weaver Center, 8540 Mentor Ave. in Mentor.

Prices vary, but all are items less than $12. Dinner choices include fried, baker and beer-battered fish, fried shrimp, steamed mussels, clam chowder, made-to-order pasta, kids meals and more.

•VFW Post 1500 at 38295 Pelton Road in Willoughby serves its fish fry on Fridays in Lent from March 8 through Good Friday.

Geauga County

• St. Mary Catholic Church Chardon, 401 North St., will host the annual fish fry 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Fridays during Lent except on Good Friday.

The all-you-can-eat dinners include homemade clam chowder, soup of the week, salad bar, rolls, beer-battered cod, baked cod, breaded shrimp, pierogis, cabbage and noodles, pizza, french fries, macaroni and cheese, green beans and soft drinks.

Pricing for dine-in guests is $13 for adults, $6 for children 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

Cuyahoga County

• Ss. Robert and William Parish, 367 E. 260th St. in Euclid, will host the annual Lenten fish fry, on Fridays, March 8 through April 12.

Dinners will be served 4:45 to 6:45 p.m. The all-you-can-eat dinners cost $13 for adults or $6 for children ages 12 and younger. Pasta marinara and mac-n-cheese as well as a la carte items will be available.
