LEAF plans session for student-athletes

The Lake/Geauga Educationa­l Assistance Foundation announced it will be holding The NCAA Session on March 21 for student-athletes and their parents.

The session — starting at 6:30 p.m. in room A-2101 at the LEAF Resource Center, 7700 Clocktower Drive in Kirtland — will feature a discussion on pertinent items necessary for students to complete in order to participat­e in their sport throughout college.

The session is free and parents are encouraged to attend with their student. Reservatio­ns are required as capacity is limited so register for the session at https://bit. ly/2DI9k8G or call 440525-7095.

LEAF is a nonprofit that delivers career and college access advisory programs that connect individual­s to their best-fit careers.

A free CPR Training Class will be offered to Geauga County senior citizens on March 22.

It will take place from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the West Geauga Senior Center, 12650 West Geauga Plaza, Unit 4, in Chester Township.

The class will be instructed by a member of the University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center ER Department, according to a news release.

There is no charge for this class, however those interested must RSVP to participat­e and be a registered senior through the Geauga County Department on Aging, the release stated.

Space is limited, so it is recommende­d people reserve their seat as soon as possible. RSVP to the West Geauga senior center by calling 440-729-2782.
