YMCA Dream House tours to begin
The Lake County YMCA Dream House in Willoughby Hills, will open daily for tours beginning June 29.
The Lake County YMCA’s 26th anniversary Dream House in Willoughby Hills, will open daily for tours beginning June 29.
Tour hours at the house, 36470 Maplegrove Road of Maple Valley Development, are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Aug. 4. July 4 tour hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Everyone 18 and over must purchase a ticket to tour the house and has the opportunity to win the decorated and furnished Dream House or the cash option of $275,000, according to a news release.
One Dream House ticket is $15 or buying three or more costs $13 each. Individuals who purchase a three-pack of Dream House tickets will also receive one entry in a second drawing to possibly win a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro sponsored by The Chevy Network/Classic Chevrolet, the release stated.
Tickets may be purchased at www.ymcadreamhouse.org.
The Lake County Y 2019 Dream House, built by ProBuilt Homes, Inc., is 3,400 square feet of rustic modern farmhouse decorated by a team of local designers.
The house features four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, study, great room, lower level home theater and fitness room, and a two-car garage.
There will also be a unique STEAM room for children and families to engage in activities that blend the traditional STEM subjects with artistic and creative elements, the release stated.
“This year’s house has something for everyone in the family,” said Kerry Bliss, design coordinator for the Lake County Y 2019 Dream House. “The innovative STEAM room for children to develop critical thinking through science, technology, engineering, arts and math has countertops perfect for experiments. The lower level home theater, smoothie bar and Y sponsored fitness room is great for any active family while the great room, kitchen and outdoor spaces are ideal for gatherings, large or small. A very lucky family will find themselves ready to move in if they win.”
“Building a better us takes hard work, dedication and most of all, collaboration,” said Kirk Stonebrook, the project’s chair. “From planning and construction to managing daily tours, hundreds of volunteers give their time and talents to ensure we provide everyone with the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y.”
At 7 p.m., Aug. 7, there will be 20 semi-finalists chosen from all tour ticket stubs purchased for the Dream House and 10 semifinalists will be chosen from the tickets for the Camaro drawing. Semi-finalists will be notified by phone and by mail and invited to the final drawing at 2 p.m., Aug. 11.
