From now through the end of the season, The News-Herald will run a list of semifinalists for the high school girls basketball player of the year award.

This year’s player of the year will be announced after the completion of the boys and girls state tournaments. Details will be released at a later date. Here is this week’s watch list, in alphabetical order. This list is subject to change weekly.

The junior guard is averaging 12.7 points, 7.4rebounds, 3.3assists and 1.7steals per game. She has also made 38 3-pointers.

• Abby Carter, North: • Madison Cloonan, Cornerstone Christian:

The senior guard/forward is averaging 13.1 points, 7.4rebounds, 2.8assists and 3.1steals per game.

• Michaela Cloonan, Cornerstone Christian:

The senior guard is averaging 11.8points, 5.9rebounds, 6.8assists and 4.9steals per game. She has also made 20 3-pointers.

• Catara DeJarnette, Kenston:

The sophomore guard is averaging 15.3points, 4.0 assists and 2.8 steals per game for the Bombers. She has also made 28 3-pointers.

• Lydia Gattozzi, Beaumont:

The junior guard is averaging 16.2points, 2.8steals and 1.0 blocks per game. She has also made 30 3-pointers.

• Madyson Hacking, Perry:

The junior guard is averaging 13.4points and 3.0assists per game. She has also made 24 3-pointers.

• Athena Hocevar, West Geauga:

The junior guard is averaging 15.7points, 5.8rebounds, 2.8assists, 2.8steals and 1.2blocks per game. She has also made 53 3-pointers.

• Elle Infalvi, Perry: • Destiny Leo, North:

The senior guard is averaging 25 points, 7.8rebounds, 2.1steals and 1.8assists per game. She has also made 63 3-pointers.

• Emma Liberatore, NDCL:

The senior forward is averaging 15.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.

• Carly Perusek, Beaumont:

The senior guard is averaging 11.7points, 6.9rebounds, 7.6assists and 3.8steals per game.

• Alexus Reese, Euclid:

The senior forward is averaging 14.3 points and 12.6 rebounds per game.

• Catherine Rock, Mayfield:

The senior guard is averaging 14.1points, 6.2rebounds, 5.0assists and 3.6steals per game.

• Jordan Vencill, Geneva:
