Transit agency board hires general counsel

Brandon D. R. Dynes was recently named general counsel of Laketran by the agency’s board of trustees.

The Concord Township resident, a principal at the law firm Thrasher, Dinsmore & Dolan, was hired by a unanimous vote during Laketran’s board meeting last month.

Dynes replaces Paul R. Malchesky who resigned from the position after being elected to serve as judge of the Painesville

Municipal Court. Malchesky had served as Laketran’s general counsel since 2007.

“We are thrilled to have Brandon on board as he brings with him vast experience of both government and corporate law,” said Laketran Board President Brian Falkowski. “Brandon is very active in the Lake County community serving on many boards and understands the valuable role Laketran plays in serving our community.”

Dynes began his career in 1997 as a trial attorney with Nationwide Insurance.

At Thrasher, Dinsmore & Dolan, Dynes litigates a multitude of civil matters, but also focuses his practice on a variety of other disciplines such as business and corporate issues; zoning and real estate; municipal and public entity law; personal injury and wrongful death; and estate planning.

Dynes currently serves as an acting judge in the Painesville Municipal Court, is legal counsel to the Lake County Ohio Port and Economic Development Authority, and also serves as general counsel to a number of privately held corporations.

Dynes is an appointed member of the Supreme Court of Ohio Board of Commissioners on Character & Fitness and the Concord Township Board of Zoning Appeals.

Dynes
