Remarkable Lake County is offering a hand to those negatively affected by the sudden closure of event venue.

Remarkable Lake County is offering a helping hand to customers negatively affected by the sudden closure of Noah’s Event Venue in Mentor.

The organization, formerly known as the Lake County Visitors Bureau, on Feb. 13 announced a free assistance program to couples who had a wedding scheduled at Noah’s or groups who had functions planned at the venue.

They are eligible for up to $500 to help with rescheduling their event, according to Remarkable Lake County.

The total amount allocated to this program is $10,000 and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The only requirement is proof of a paid deposit to Noah’s in Mentor on a future event and rescheduling at another location within Lake County. Various venue representatives in the area are offering their services. “When we heard about Noah’s in Mentor suddenly closing, we immediately thought about the negative impact it was going to have on people who had future events planned at that location,” said Remarkable Lake County Executive Director Neil Stein. “We talked about what our organization might be able to do to help folks who have been negatively impacted and when we proposed this concept to our Board of Directors, they unanimously supported the idea and we’re happy to be announcing it today.

“We understand $100 or $500 likely won’t cover all of the money that some of these folks lost with Noah’s abrupt closure, but we are lucky to have so many other great venues in Lake County where people can host events, and we hope this program encourages people to look within our great county when they’re rescheduling their event.” The Noah’s chain was forced to close locations across the country after falling into bankruptcy.
