New book says Mark Zuckerberg gets his armpits blow-dried before his speeches

If you ever thought your job was bad, at least you don’t have to blow dry your boss’ armpits.

That is unless you happen to be the person responsible for making sure Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg looks cool and dry before his public appearances. At least that’s what Zuckerberg does, according to a new book coming out next week that purports to be the ultimate document on the history of the social networking giant.

In his book, “Facebook: The Inside Story”, Wired writer Stephen Levy reports that Zuckerberg has had Facebook communications team members break out a hair dryer and dry his perspiring armpits prior to his taking the stage at some company events. The tale about blow-drying of Zuckerberg’s armpits was included in a Bloomberg review of Levy’s book, which is set to come out on Feb. 25.

Zuckerberg is known for wearing gray T-shirts during many of his public appearances. Facebook didn’t immediately return a request for comment about the blow-drying of Zuckerberg’s armpits.

But, Levy’s publisher,

Penguin Random House, said the book is the product of “unprecedented access” to Zuckerberg and Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, as well as hundreds of interviews of Facebook current and former Facebook employees.

Whether Zuckerberg does or doesn’t have his armpits blow-dried before his next public event, it’s probably not a stretch to think that all eyes will be on Zuckerberg’s gray T-shirt, or whatever else he might be wearing.
